A word in English from Julie, Helene, Thomas, Simon and Gabriel
At 10 o'clock this morning we started on a trip to Valdemossa. It's a small village in the mountain above Palma. There, we had a guided tour of a famous monastery where the French novelist George Sand and the pianist Frederic Chopin spent two months in 1838. Then we had some free time to visit the village on our own and eat our lunch (packed lunch from the hotel and if we must say the truth, it just tasted awful...). At half past two the coach took us to la Granja, an hacienda that show howpeople used to live on the island. We visited the huge mansion then the grounds and we tasted delicious deep fried cakes made of corn flour and potato served with sugar and jam. Then we returned to the hotel and worked on our reports for about an hour. This was a very pleasant day.
